Bolder Events was founded in 2007 by Linda Shaw and Penny Tompkins, both graduates of the University of Denver with backgrounds in hotel and restaurant management. After years in the hospitality industry and volunteering at their children’s school fundraisers, they saw a common challenge: critical event tasks—like check-in and check-out—were often left to untrained volunteers, putting fundraising success at risk.
Their solution? Create a company that provides professional, reliable support for nonprofit events, especially where it matters most. What began with 19 events and a small team has grown into a thriving business managing over 300 events annually with a talented staff of full-time and part-time professionals.
